Look, I get it. With Patrick Mahomes set to start his second year as the starter for the Kansas City Chiefs, fans are fired up to see if the gunslinger will be able to get the team to the Super Bowl. After all, they were a play or two away from taking down the Pats in the AFC Championship Game last winter. But, despite all the energy surrounding the Chiefs, is this all really necessary for a cereal commercial?

The suspense, the drama! While the video tries to get you fired up, it’s just completely over the top at the end of the day. Since when did eating cereal became the same thing as getting ready for war on the gridiron? Pouring milk into a bowl can be intense, but far less so than competing in a football game.
We can only hope Mahomes’ new cereal is 1,000 times better than this spot trying to promote it.
