BAKER MAYFIELD RIPS THE POLITICALLY CORRECT ERA FOR NCAA’S RIDICULOUS HORNS DOWN RULE

Baker Mayfield is not a fan of a Big 12 rule regarding the “Horns Down” gesture.

Last season, Big 12 player David Sills saw himself getting penalized for doing a Horns Down gesture while playing Texas in a game. During the upcoming 2019 season, the NCAA said players could face unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for doing the anti-Texas gesture.

Baker absolutely hates the rule.

“I think it’s very soft they’re implementing a rule about it. It shows the sensitivity of today’s day and age,” The Cleveland Browns QB said on the “Pardon My Take” podcast with Barstool Sports.

He’s not wrong. Flashing a Horns down in the air shouldn’t result in a penalty unless the gesture it towards a player on the team.

Trash talk has always been part of the game and if a simple gesture like this throws the Longhorns off their game, then so be it.
